We survived the snow/ice storm of December. We were out of power, water, phone and cell phone for what seemed like forever. The batteries for the fireplace fans lasted for a few days then we had to rely on the wood stove for heat and to melt snow for bathing. We brought snow in and melted it in the tub for water to flush toilets. After the worst of the storm we cut the fallen trees from the driveway, chained up the 4x4 to force our way out to the road.
